Short Student Biography

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Kenyatta University (2015) and a Postgraduate diploma in Health Research Methods from Pwani University (2016). I also hold a Master’s in Bioinformatics degree from the University of Nairobi having done research project on malaria drugs resistance (2020). I have a passion to work on research on infectious diseases which are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in developing nations.

In this month's webinar topic "Bioinformatics" hosted by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's (UNCC) Bioinformatics Research Center; Dr. George O. Obiero (Director, University of Nairobi's Centre for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics - CEBIB) and Lunayo Accadius (MSc Bioinformatics, CEBIB) will be presenting on "Exploring and Utilizing of Translational Bioinformatics in Animal Health in Sub-Saharan Africa". Daniel Janies, Ph.D. from UNCC will provide insights on "Understanding the origins of and countermeasures to SARS-CoV-2 and other human Coronaviruses".
