The Centre for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (CEBIB) has been ranked the 1st runners up in the University of Nairobi's performance contract evaluation; FY 2019/2020 (Centres & Institutes category).
On January 29, 2021, the University of Nairobi’s Centre for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (CEBIB) was announced as the 1st runners up in the University FY 2019/2020 Performance Contract evaluation (Centres and Institutes category) with a performance score of 2.798. The performance ranking was unveiled at a ceremony presided over by the varsity Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama.
Notably, CEBIB remains to be position 1 in the top-ranked College of Biological and Physical Sciences, a position the Centre has maintained since 2018. The Centre Director, Dr. George Obiero, who received the award certificate from the Vice-Chancellor on behalf of CEBIB, attributed the performance to a cohesive team effort and thanked all CEBIB stakeholders for the contribution in the achievement.
